Beyond The Grave

A piece for Intelligent Life magazine based around portraits of Sir Hugh Trevor-Roper and Isaiah Berlin.
The article talked of how, despite both these genius polymaths having passed away, they continue to dominate the publishing world in their areas of expertise (history and political philosophy, respectively).

Graham and I discussed ideas for their representation to be formal and to present both men, perhaps in a kind of abstract academic setting. I decided to base the portrait on Holbein’s The Ambassadors and surround the men with clues to their lives and loves and their place in publishing.
