New Scientist Cover – Fast Lane Evolution

Art Direction by Craig Mackie

A cover for New Scientist for a feature about how environmental factors may cause faster evolution.
The AD, Craig Mackie, and I discussed ideas about a creature evolving ‘before our eyes’. We took artistic license with the stages of evolution a bit! but the idea was for a creature to be emerging from the water where it began as a single-cell organism, through a fish, a reptile as it climbs onto a tree, a bird, an early mammal, an early primate and a homo sapiens as it reaches forward.
